Since becoming part of Tower Health last fall, one of our early actions was to take steps to restore our historical standing as a non-profit institution – investing any profits we generate back into our people, our hospital and our technology to support the health and wellness of the Phoenixville community. With $8.4 million planned to invest during the next 12 months and $3.7 million reinvested since October 2017, we’re strengthening nearly every aspect of your care, including:

  • Quality of Care – We’ve implemented state-of-the-art technology, equipment and systems to enhance quality of care, patient safety and the patient experience with additional improvements planned in the next 12 months, including:
    • Enhanced telemetry capabilities for optimized remote monitoring of patients
    • Upgraded Operating Room suites and equipment
    • New ultrasound, vascular ultrasound machine and the latest interventional radiology ultrasound
    • PET scanner and x-ray equipment
    • Gastrointestinal scopes for our Endoscopy Unit, allowing surgeons to have enhanced views of the esophagus, stomach and small intestine
    • Latest DRX-Evolution Plus radiation room, delivering superb image quality, greater flexibility and new LED lighting for enhanced functionality
    • Implementation of the Carto® 3 Ablation System, a leading-edge 3D mapping platform
    • MRI coils for receipt and transmission of radiofrequency signals
    • Electronic medical record system to improve patient safety and enhance coordination of your care among all Phoenixville Hospital and Tower Health providers. This platform also gives you the ability to communicate electronically with your providers, schedule appointments, view test results and request prescription refills online
  • Access to Care – We’re ensuring you have access to the highest level of expertise in our region. In the past 12 months we’ve recruited new physicians, surgeons and specialists with additional recruitment planned over the next 12 months, including:
    • Cardiovascular Disease Specialist
    • Hematologist/Medical Oncologist
    • Interventional Cardiologist
    • Interventional Pain Management
    • Orthopedic Surgeon
    • Orthopedic Hand Specialist
    • Pathologist
    • Urologist
  • Patient Experience – Your comfort is important to us, and that’s why we’ve already implemented the changes below with other improvements planned in the next 12 months:
    • New beds on patient floors, including the Intensive Care Unit
    • Resurfacing parking lots
    • Replacing hospital roof
    • Upgrading elevators
    • Renovating many areas within the hospital including the Women’s Health Department
    • Installing new HVAC systems

  • Community Health Needs Assessment – A key component of our non-profit mission is to keep you healthy and well. That’s why we’re collaborating with local representatives to identify our most pressing health priorities. Over the next 12 months, Phoenixville Hospital and an advisory board comprised of local public health, government, religious, higher education, minority and low-income representatives will conduct a formal Community Health Needs Assessment. The results will be completed and publicly available by July 1, 2019, with the implementation plan publicly available by November 15, 2019.
